hot dog!

they're cute, aren't they? they love each other!
and this is usally the way things go- corinne laying on the floor and ella on top of her. corinne is pretty good about it. she takes it and laughs even as i'm scolding ella and pulling her off. sometimes things end with corinne crying and ella saying a somewhat insincere, "i sorry corinne". however, today may be the beginning of the turning of the tides. i was fixing up hot dogs at costco for me and ted when i heard ella say,"ahhh! no, corinne!" i looked over to see corinne trying with all her might to take the hot dog away from ella. she was so tenacious. even as ella turned her whole body away from corinne to eat her hot dog, corinne was leaning way over in order to get a visual.
maybe all those times she got tackled she was just biding her time...

food for thought...

this is interesting. i just found this video as i was downloading photos onto the computer. this must have happened while i was at church saturday evening. what other things does she get into while i'm not home that don't get videoed, i wonder? hmm...

so now that corinne has 2 teeth we have begun teaching her how to brush her teeth. evidently she missed the part about brushing your teeth as opposed to chewing on the handle. i love how they are both using the same hand in this picture.

according to ella

the other day the four of us were coming home and ted was searching through my purse for the house key (apparently one more key on his keychain would upset the balance of the universe) and ella said, "no, no daddy!"

this is one of corinne's favorite pasttimes. when i take the girls to the park i sit corinne down in the sand and she will stay there for the longest time playing! she seems to be the most fascinated by the little grains that stick to her fingers.

day at the zoo

we took the girls to the oakland zoo today. the girls loved it! corinne and ella were such good babies. they napped on the way down there and then enjoyed walking around and seeing the animals.
without fail... i have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to get a decent photo of the 3 of us!
ella is checking out the flamingos and i think corinne is just smiling at daddy.

say cheese! well, at least you're both looking.

ella loved this little kiddie cave. she kept going back inside.
checking out the giraffes.
this was one of the highlights of the day. ella specifically asked to ride a tiger. thankfully, we found one available. when the ride was over she wanted to go again. she was so proud that she did it. every time we came around and passed ted she would say, "hi daddy!"
this was ella's favorite part of the day. she was so excited to be riding on the train. she was making friends with the kids in the line and telling them that they were going to ride a train. she loved it!
then we were serenaded on our ride home. gotta love it! unfortunately, i only got the tail end of "baby beluga".

so, today the girls and i headed out early to run a few errands. i was emptying out the trash bag from my car when the neighbor's dog started barking. i walked back over to the car where ella was strapped in her seat and she said, " hear de doggie?" "yes, i hear the doggie, ella", i replied. then she said, "spank dat doggie!" the things they come up with...

big girl

a week ago we went out to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. this was corinne's first time sitting at the table with the big people. i can't believe how big she is already.

saturday morning activities

ok, i know this is out of order. i pulled these pictures off the camera and just had to post them. we had a lazy saturday morning: the girls had fun playing in our room for a while before empty tummies drove us downstairs for banana waffles-yumm!

i love the expression on corinne's face, "hey, i haven't even fixed my hair this morning, get this kid off me!" she really does love playing with ella and, in fact, as i'm telling ella "get off your sister. you'll squish her" corinne will laugh.
ella loves playing this game on ted's ipod. you shake the ipod and it rolls the dice. it makes the sounds and everything.
Posted by Picasa airplane! she looks half asleep.
this is what ted and the girls were doing as i fixed my hair. honestly, this was the first picture! i can't believe they were all looking at the camera!

mommyhood initiation

today we decided to go out to eat after church. we've found this to be an unwise decision in the past, but since corinne is a little older we thought we'd try a new place (meaning not kaffe mocha which is pretty much the only place we go with the girls). there is this cute little french bistro-style restaurant downtown that we found. this is the kind of place ted and i would have loved to have a cozy lunch over the tiny tables and look at all the interesting decor before we had the girls (or on a date). we thought we'd give it a try. so, i managed to nurse corinne without any incident (which can be a feat). however, once she was finished and our food started arriving she reached out and pulled my icy glass of cucumber water all over me. so, now i'm sitting on a wet cushioned seat in wet jeans. the water was so cold i think the people sitting next to us thought i was injured by the glass falling because of my reaction. still wearing my nursing cover, corinne in one arm innocently looking around, i was hovering over my seat trying not to sit down. it was lovely! thankfully, we were able to eat our lunch without any other excitement. next time maybe we'll just spring for macdonald's drive-thru!
