keeping cool

here are a few things we've been doing to keep cool so far this summer:

hanging out in the backyard

swimming in the fishie pool and hot tub (aka our mini swimming pool)

homemade pizza on the grill!

little man

bohdan will be 10 months as of tomorrow!! the time has flown by!! this time last year i remember sitting at the farmhouse with ted for our anniversary dinner as we discussed names. we still hadn't come up with a name! well, we're way passed that. bohdan crawls and sits up by himself now. he has started pulling himself up onto his knees, but he's still a ways from walking. he doesn't like "chewing" anything. if we try feeding him something with a little texture he spits it out. he is the happiest easy-going kid!! he's slept through the night and gotten by with only 3 nursings a day since 2 or 3 months of age. he says "nana" (mama) and "dada" and "baba" (bye bye as he waves). the other day he actually blew my mom a kiss on skype! i love this little man!! he is gadget crazy like his daddy, loves cars, trucks and balls. i love you, little bear. i can't believe you're almost a year old!

the joke

ever since bohdan was born i've joked that the girls will probably dress him up, paint his fingernails make him play dollies...

that day has officially arrived.

little artist

on any given day you could find ella dressed like this:

she loves layers. i purposefully try to buy her clothes to coordinate together (of course there are always the "disco" pants she gets from nona, my mom). the other day ella got a hold of my camera and tonight i got the pleasure of browsing through them for the first time. here are a few good ones...

she likes taking pictures of her toys, i guess.

vacation

so ted and i have finally decided to take the kids to florida for vacation. we really want to see his brother and family (we haven't seen them in years) and the kids need more time with their grandparents. so, we're spending time in south florida, central florida and then heading over to orlando for family vacation with mickey. ted let the girls in on the plan. now every time we leave the house the girls ask if we're going on vacation. the other day the kids and i were driving in the car and corinne says, "we're coming, mickey, we're coming!!" yeah, they might be a little excited.
